Online Entertainment: TOP 5 YouTube Channels

YouTube homepage from mormonmusic.org
Like what I've said in my previous post, nowadays I opt to go to YouTube for my daily dose of entertainment. Unlike TV, YouTube is more diverse and random when it comes to the viewing experience. You can choose to watch hours and hours of nonsense videos that are available there or you can choose to watch sophisticated entertaining videos that are also available on the website. Clearly, it is up to you to decide what kind of video you should watch. That is the magic of YouTube.

I admit that I was not watching on YouTube till the very beginning (I was only a kid way back in 2005!) so listing my favorite channels can be a bit more recent, but I still appreciate the past channels there at YouTube, after all, they were the foundation and inspiration of many YouTubers today. So without further introductions, here are my TOP 5 YouTube channels that I frequently watch and follow today.

CongTV from youtube.com
5.) CongTV
First video posted on Dec 1, 2008 (Silent Sanctuary - Rebound (MTV))
Currently at 2,024,680 subscribers (as of January 21, 2019)

First made short skits then commentary videos and currently transitioned into making vlogs

CongTV is one of the most famous YouTuber here in the Philippines. He has one of the most amazing fan base, famously known as the Chicken Feet Gang ("What's up sa inyo mga Paa!"), which he started as a trend. For me, he is a naturally funny person and you can always see that in his videos. One of my favorite videos of CongTV is his past commentary videos, the "Usapang [insert topic here]". His various reactions, commentary, facial expressions, and personality can really make you laugh-out-loud all the way through. Currently, CongTV makes vlogs about his daily life and also about the big budgeted, CGI-heavy, superhero movie that he and his team plan to do. I just hope they can make the movie come to life. More 'paawer' to CongTV!

TheOdd1sOut from youtube.com
4.) TheOdd1sOut
First video posted on Aug 30, 2014 (A Book I Made as a Kid)

Currently at 9,964,161 subscribers (as of January 21, 2019)
Made consistent animated commentary videos (with occasional vlogs)

One of the most subscribed animation channels on YouTube, TheOdd1sOut is a commentary channel manned by an animator named James Rallison. Although there are many great animation channels out there on YouTube (Jaden Animations, Domics, Explosm Entertainment, etc.), TheOdd1sOut is the funniest for me. His style of storytelling about his life and everything is just fun to watch and it will always leave you wanting more. If you are a fan of animated commentary comedy videos, this channel is for you! (You can also check the ones that I've mentioned, they're also pretty great). BUT before you subscribe to them, please wear your seatbelt.

Danny Gonzales from youtube.com
3.) Danny Gonzales
Currently at 1,979,015 subscribers (as of January 21, 2019)
Started on Vine, then went on YouTube
First made short skits and music videos up to currently making commentary videos

Danny Gonzales is one of those viners-turned-youtubers that is now doing great on YouTube. After the 6-second video application, Vine shut down on January 17, 2017, most of the famous creators there decided to pursue YouTube as their second platform. Many Viners went on to have more success on YouTube (Drew Gooden, Anwar Jibawi, Lele Pons, etc.) and Danny Gonzales is one of them. Danny currently creates commentary videos about anything that is interesting for him, and they are always really hilarious. Like CongTV, the jokes and reactions that he makes will make you laugh. He has a unique style of comedy that I always enjoy. So, if you want to join the world's number 1 army, Greg, make sure to subscribe to Danny Gonzales!

PewDiePie from youtube.com
2.) PewDiePie
First video posted on Oct 2, 2010 (Minecraft Multiplayer Fun)
Currently at 81,796,038 subscribers (as of January 21, 2019)
Most subscribed YouTuber (as of January 24, 2019)
First made gameplay videos up to currently making commentary videos (with occasional gameplay videos)

Whenever there's YouTube, PewDiePie will always be present. Felix Kjellberg (real name) is a Swedish Youtuber that owns the channel PewDiePie, the number 1 most subscribed channel on YouTube (beat that TSeries!). Over the past couple of months, Felix has been making history and records as more and more people are subscribing to his channel. Because of this new found fame, he decided to join in on the ride by making videos about the support that he is getting. PewDiePie was first known to make gameplay videos (his channel actually started with him playing Minecraft). Currently, he makes commentary videos and other random things like PewNews, Meme Review, YLYL, LWIAY and many more. So if you are not subscribed yet, please do your part 9-year-olds!

Good Mythical Morning from youtube.com
1.) Good Mythical Morning
First video posted on Oct 30, 2008 (The Bloody Door)
Currently at 14,961,069 subscribers (as of January 21, 2019)
First made random videos (skits, music, outtakes from other videos, occasional vlogs) up to making the variety commentary show Good Mythical Morning that started on Jan 9, 2012

Good Mythical Morning is a variety commentary show hosted by the iconic YouTube duo Rhett and Link. Whenever I watch GMM, it feels like I'm just watching TV, but in a good way. The first GMM episode was aired on January 9, 2012, and since then, the number of Mythical Beasts (their fan base) grew larger and stronger than ever before! GMM is a great morning routine for everyone wanting to make their mornings special, although, it's kind of funny because here in the Philippines, the uploads of GMM are always on night time. But who cares? You can still watch it in any part of the day and you will still be entertained. Now, if you want to be a Mythical Beast and make your mornings (or evenings) special, come and subscribe to Good Mythical Morning on YouTube!

So, do you agree with my list? Which YouTube channels or videos do you watch? Do you also have your own favorite YouTube channels or videos? Comment down below and we'll talk about it! Your comments are always appreciated, see you next time!
